Recipes: Blue Cheese & Pear Toast

04 September 2025

Plate of bread with pear slices and nuts on a light surface with pears and a honey dipper.

Our Fig & Walnut Sourdough has always been a little bit fancy, so it only makes sense to pair it with toppings that match its character. This recipe brings together creamy blue cheese, fresh pear, and a drizzle of honey or balsamic glaze for balance. The walnuts – grown by our friends at Trickett’s Grove – tie it all together with a satisfying crunch. It’s simple, sophisticated, and the kind of toast that works just as well on a dinner party platter as it does for lunch at home.

Good bread doesn’t need much – just the right toppings to let it shine. With our Fig & Walnut Sourdough as the base, this recipe gives you crunch, creaminess, and just the right touch of sweetness.

Pick up a loaf in store or order online and enjoy a slice of something special.

And if you want to mix it up, here are a few more ways to top your toast:

  • Go savoury: ricotta with roasted beetroot and thyme.
  • Keep it classic: cream cheese with sliced apple and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  • Lean indulgent: mascarpone with figs and a drizzle of dark chocolate.
  • Fresh and simple: avocado with lemon and cracked pepper.
