Project Local: Chris Meek & Zasha Skye
04 November 2025
Most of our Project Local stories are about the growers, makers, and producers who help fill our shelves. This one’s a little different.
Last weekend, Raglan artists Chris Meek and Zasha Skye opened their joint exhibition Panel & Paint at Eyes on Fire Gallery in Grey Lynn, Auckland. The opening night was full of good people, good food, and that easy kind of energy that comes when community shows up to celebrate creativity.
Volare was proud to be the bread sponsor for the evening – and according to Zasha, the platters went down a treat. We love seeing local talent making waves further afield, and we’re stoked to have played a small part in the celebration.
Artist Spotlight
Chris Meek is known for his sculptural works that blend industrial materials with hand-built precision – pieces that sit somewhere between raw and refined, much like the landscapes that inspire them.
Zasha Skye brings the same sense of contrast to her paintings, mixing vivid colour, texture, and emotion in works that feel both grounded and ethereal.
Together, their collaboration in Panel & Paint captures the beauty of balance – steel and softness, form and flow.
The exhibition runs daily until November 13 at 15 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Tāmaki Makaurau (10am–4pm). If you’re in Auckland, stop in and take a look.
