Volare Stockist: Urban Market Pukekohe

12 May 2023

We are so grateful for our growing list of on-sellers who make it possible for us to get fresh bread and pastries to folks far and wide. Urban Market Pukekohe are one of those on-sellers and what they've built for their community is something really special. Not only do they offer an amazing selection of health-foods and local produce, but they also operate a popular little cafe called The Daily Goods, serving fresh Kokako Coffee, tasty treats, and drool-worthy toasted sandwiches made with Volare bread.

Urban Market: The Origin Story

Opening their doors in December last year, Urban Market is about to celebrate their one year anniversary. We recently stopped in to catch up with owner-operators Simon and Holly Jansen to see how things have been going and to learn a little more about their origin story.

Holly is a talented chef with over 22 years of experience, well known for her time at Town Mouse and for her food truck and catering business that she started prior to opening The Daily Goods within Urban Market. Working away in an open kitchen with a friendly team supporting her, the cafe is clearly a popular spot for locals and a lovely place to relax and dig into some delicious food.

Prior to purchasing the business – which was a more outdated version of the Urban Market you'll find today – Simon was a Warehouse Operations manager for Blue Rock. He told us that as well as significant renovations to the building itself, their offering and the community support has grown a lot since they opened.

Both Simon and Holly went to school in Pukekohe and had been friends for many years before getting married and, eventually, entering into business together too.

Urban Market: Our Top Product Picks

You'll be spoilt for choice at Urban Market Pukekohe – but here's a few things that we loved. Their selection of fresh Free Range Eggs and Daily Organics Kombucha.

The entire range of Apostle Hot Sauce with a handy bottle return service and all the Organic Nuts & Seeds you could dream of.

Tio Pablo treats for your next Mexican inspired meal and, of course, freshly baked Volare Bread that you can either pre-order or pick form their range of daily deliveries.

We cannot recommend Urban Market and The Daily Goods in Pukekohe enough and are proud to be in partnership with them. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are all very helpful. So next time you're passing through, make sure to stop in and check out what they've created. And maybe pick up a Volare loaf or two!
